CBSI Donates $10,000 to Aligegeo Provincial Secondary School

The Central Bank of Solomon Islands has donated a sum of $SBD10, 000 along with economic resources (reports) to the Aligegeo Provincial Secondary School in Auki-Malaita Province.
Deputy Governor Raynold Moveni made a special visit to the school on Tuesday 29th September while on tour with the CBSI- NFIU team, where he presented the donations.
The team was in Auki to conduct a consultation workshop with the key provincial stakeholders, as part of the initiative to develop the governments first ever National Digital Economy Strategy (NDES 1) and the third National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS 3).
During his presentation, Deputy Governor Moveni explained that CBSI wanted to use their travel opportunity to visit and support the school through a donation.
“This donation is mainly to assist the school administration and management during the current COVID-19 crises, as we know this year has been a very challenging year for everyone,” he said.
Aligegeo P.S.S Principal, Mr. Alick M. Tuita in his response thanked Deputy Governor Moveni for the timely assistance to help the school.
“Thank you CBSI for visiting us and acknowledge fully the Deputy Governor for this donation of $10, 000 dollars and the economic resource materials to our school”.
The Principle also commended Deputy Governor and his team for the brief awareness talk they held with the students and staff.
Deputy Governor Moveni’s presentation to staff and students was mainly on the functions and operations of the bank, and updates about the current state of the nation’s economy.
The presentation was completed with a short Q&A session before the team returned to Auki for other engagements on the day.
